Madonna: Ray Of Light
With Madonna in the news alot at the moment with a directorial debut, Superbowl performance and a new album I thought it would be the right time to look back at her best and most sophisticated album in my opinion. The new album MDNA has Madonna again collaborating with William Orbit who co-created Ray of Light and 1 or 2 songs since.
The album released in 1998 was her most spiritual having just given birth to her 1st child and was the first project since the movie musical Evita. Resulting in material with depth and a bigger range and power in her (sometimes weak) vocals.
Below are 5 singles and videos produced from the album

Another gem from around this period is a demo called Like An Angel Passing Through my room.
Many believe Madonna's sampling of ABBA's Gimme, Gimme, Gimme in Hung Up was her first involvement with their music, however this unreleased demo is in fact a cover of the last song off the last studio album by the pop group.
